ahh I FEEL SPECIAL 8D I followed you too~ or so, I think I did eoe thank you -Why does random stuff keeps showing up on this random page that pops up when I try to go to my home page? www.tumblr.com/dashboard-How do I delete things on my page? -How does every page have a different layout? Is there like an option to change it? -Is there a place where I can visit my settings? -What does reblogging do? I think thats all for now

Your dashboard IS your homepage actually! When you follow a blog, the content of the people you follow appear on your dashboard. So, if someone makes a post or reblogs a post, that post will appear on your dashboard. If you want to visit your actual blog, you'd have to manually type your blog url into the address bar. You can also click on your avatar, which will cause the mobile version of your blog to appear on the side of your dashboard. To delete posts from your page, you have to visit your blog, access the post and delete it. You can also delete your posts if you see them appear on your own dashboard, but that can be very hard to find if you follow a lot of people. What do you mean by different page? As in, when you visit a person's blog or? Yeah! On the upper right corner, you should see a little person icon. Click on it and a little drop down menu will appear. One of the options is "Settings" An image for help: When you click on it, you can change your email, password, language, etc. On the lower right, you should see a place called "blogs" and it'll show your blog(s) that you currently have. Click on it, and there you can change your blog url, your theme, open/close your askbox, submit box, etc. Another image to help: i.imgur.com/4ZCC13Y.pngReblogging is like sharing posts that like and posts that you want to appear on your own blog. When you reblog a post, people that follow you will also see those posts when they look at their dashboard.

Thank you, this really helps me ;w; I'm totally serious And yeah, by different page I mean blog(didn't know they were called that) For example, this page : chrishemsworthy.tumblr.comhas a different layout from this page : foodiebliss.tumblr.com/One`s white, and the other one is pink with an ice cream background. How do I change my page layout like that?

Of course! Oh! Those are called themes. Every blog has a different one because each person decides how they want their blog to look. You can customise it however you want to, to how big the font is, where the pictures are, what colours to choose, etc. It's a little hard to find a good theme. Tumblr has a few default (free) ones, they do have some that aren't free but they are NOT worth your money trust me. Tumblr doesn't have many good ones, but if you like one of them then of course please use them. To change your theme: Click on the little person on the upper right corner, and on the drop box menu click on "Edit Appearance" It will take you to a page that looks similar to your settings page, look for and click on "Edit Theme" It will bring you to a new page, with a menu of sorts on the left side. Right at the top you should see "Custom Theme" and "Browse Themes" If you want to look for the tumblr default ones, then click on "Browse Themes" I'll continue the other option in the next post since it's a bit complicated

If you don't like any of the default ones, then here's where things get a bit complex. There are blogs that are dedicated in making themes, that's right. There are many many blogs that do this, and they make many many themes so it will probably take a while to find one that you really like. So, if you DO find one you like, what do you do? I'm going to use a quick example for one of my side blogs. I'm linking it if you want to try it yourself as a practice thing, you don't have to use it of course. this theme right hereSo, say I really like this theme, I look for a link that says "Preview" or "Static Preview" to check it out. Some themes will have multiple versions and will say "X Version" instead of Preview (still the same thing though!). I click on it, and it'll bring me to a fake-blog that has this theme so you can closely look at how it looks like. This particular post has these links at the top, some have them at the bottom of the post of course. So, I click through the previews and think "wow yeah I'm digging this theme" On that post, I look for the link that says "Code"Sometimes, right next to Code it will say "Pastebin" and "Raw data" If you ever see this, ALWAYS click on "Pastebin." In this case though, all it says is "Code", so it makes things easier. It'll take you to the pastebin website. You'll immediately see a large white box with a bunch of code in it. Sometimes there isn't as much code, sometimes there's A LOT. What you want to do is highlight and copy everythingDo not highlight anything past the "RAW paste data" box. So, now you have the html code copied! Go back to your Customisation page, and click on "Edit HTML" (it's right above the Browse Themes link) It'll bring you a thing of code, what you want to do is delete EVERYTHING. Yes, everything. Once everything is deleted, paste the code you previously copied. So it should now look similar to this: Linking it since the image is a little bigClick "Update Preview" and then click "Save" The hard part's over now! Go back to your normal Customisation page, and you can change the colour scheme, what picture you want on your blog (it's like a second profile picture), if you want music on your blog, etc.

why didn't I notice this thread sooner ngl
a--winchester.tumblr.com <---- my main blog. the main fandom is spn but loads of other stuff pop up
@eises: I know you don't like spn, so you should know all posts/reblogs related to it are usually tagged. So if you used xkit/ts to block the key tags then they wouldn't show up on your dash (I have a list of all my tags in my nav, but blacklisting the two main actors and two main charries should block most of it)

!!!! FOLLOWED
That's fine! My dislike for spn has gone down considerably to the point where I can tolerate it on my dash now actually! I DO use (the new) xkit thankfully, so if I ever go back to not liking it I'll blacklist it. Thanks for the heads up though!
My blog is mostly anime and game-related things, though every now and then I'll reblog normal/silly posts and SPACE

That's really good info, thank you. It sounds complicated, but I want to try it anyways. xD By the way, may I ask how you learned how to do all this? This is some grade A stuff you've got

Yeah! There's a lot more so if you need any just ask It's a little complicated but after doing it a few times it becomes a lot easier (just a bit time consuming)
My friend invited me to make a tumblr a few years ago so she taught me some basics of it, but I learned all of the theme things from experience! I didn't know you could copy + paste your own theme until I saw some people that I followed reblog that stuff, so I lurked around for a bit and learned from trial and error heh.
What's also nice is that if you see a theme on someone's blog you really like, they usually have a page that's titled "Source" or "Theme", if you click on that it should redirect you to the person who created the theme. There you can hunt down the theme that you saw (it's a little hard looking sometimes because some layouts are a nightmare to navigate through @@ ).
