The night is still, silent, cold And the moon looks lonely in the nighttime sky With not a single soul awake to keep her company Though for years no one has set foot in the land she guards She insists on rising every night Waxing, waning, full, or invisible She longs for only one thing, and every so often it returns
A laugh echoes throughout the empty land And the night sky stirs as her children come out to play Their wing beats and laughter breaking apart the hollow silence As they chase each other around Teasing, laughing, playing The moon smiles down upon them And the night seems to brighten As the warmth of her love is sent down to her children of the night
For now, everything is well and true and happy But the children will have to leave soon And the their home will lay abandoned Until the night they can come again And bring a smile to the lonely moon’s face

Cool! I've been working on getting emotions across through writing, so it's good to know that I'm getting better ^^
