464 SERVER IS BACK ONLINE
I just noticed the other day and went to check it out!! It's got a new lobby and now it's version 8, but apparently they kept the old map and were just updating/re-vamping the server for a month or two. We even kept our VIP status! (Or I did, MGD probably kept yours too). He said it's the old map but IDK if we can find the original spot. But MGD says he still has out castle, so when we find a spot for it we can have it put back it.
Unless we want to rebuild it? Idk lately I've had a lot of great ideas for castles that I've been keeping note of. If we want we could either stick with the old one or make a new one. Maybe we can hop on skype and figure out a new place, either way?

Woooooooo!!!
Sure! I'm free all day today untill 5:30pm ct, so whenever you want to call :D
Well... How about I contact you? My laptop just force updated -_- idk how much longer it will take
I was thinking, what if we did the main castle, then smaller, kingdom-themed castles? Like, all around the main one?

Great! I've got a bit of school to do so I'll try and have that done by around 2:00 or 3:00.
You mean like a main royal castle, then a private fort/palace/castle thing for each section of the kingdom? I like that! Then we can each have our own styles.
Three thing's for sure: it has to be on the coast somewhere; the main castle should be the most grand; we should try harder this time around to make it easier to defend (there were no secret passage ways or any real defense on the castle itself, so if ever we had to fall back to defend it we'd be doomed)
Should I post my notes?

I'm ready when you are. technically I still have Chemistry to do but I need my mom's help and she's not home.
Also just contact me directly on skype. I deleted the night owlz group because there were like 5 of them and I never go on so they were just annoying me with all the pop-up messages

Castle
Gatehouse wall, connects to castle? Shared side, bridges from castle to outside wall for easy access Bridges easily destroyed in event of invasion Confusing hallways, ideally to make invaders lost Many dead end halls, connecting offshoots, empty/rarely used rooms Dipped battlements, allows defenders to move along walls out of sight (and projectile crosshairs) if need be Walls are 7 thick, 8 thick battlement (1 blc overhang to deter spiders/climbers) Arrow slits, not too many, made of wallstairs to maximally prevent backfires main gate: two accompanying towers bridging, bottom level arrow slits to attack gatecrashers Stone fencing for non burn risk actual gate will be disguised pistons above gate is chamber loaded with sand/gravel, can be dumped on gateway (smothers gatecrashers and natural gravity of blocks makes digging through time consuming) gatehouse has lever to open gate- lever is kept off wall most of time, so only a select few persons know where to place a lever to open False gates through the wall should open in invasion, then close to crush and suffocate enemies all bedrooms look the same in event to confuse intruders further secret ways in and out of the castle are important, as well as passages around it reinforce dungeons with obsidian coats as to discourage jailbreaks towers must also have hidden ways down in the event of soldiers being trapped by intruders (i.e; water shoots to ground level) Traps for soldiers to initiate are crucial Kamakazi pits (one soldier volunteers to bait and lead enemies to a pit, where the kamakazi jumps in. Enemies will see there is water at the bottom and will assume it is an escape tunnel, jump down, find themselves in lava Similar pits in castle, with too obvious "secret passage" buttons Throne room higher up than usual cavernous dining hall no inner courtyard, just outer courtyard more frequent common rooms (given a name based on appearance, i.e. green room, acacia room, sun room, etc) tower designed for specific purposes (astronomy, eg) huge library with multiple levels and tears inner castle ramparts (also operate as outdoor hallways or bridges to rooms) non-overhanging terraces/verandas sewers? (Difficult work)

I just realized I was using my shorthand so that might be hard to decipher my notes xD
About looking for a possible place: I gave up looking around spawn because of all the chunk errors, and I don't like the idea of being super close to spawn anyways. So I went to that island/peninsula you found (I had set home there before we left) and took a look around that area again. After being dissatisfied I wandered off for awhile and stumbled upon this big open area:
-It's mostly plains, so it's nice and open and relatively flat, great for shaping -It's got mountains on two sides, which should be great for defense -On part of one side there's a swamp that would make a good border (as well as having valuable stuff like slimes, mushrooms, etc!) -There are a few wooded areas, one of which is more hilly -There's horse and sheep spawns! -It's doubly nice because there's a ton of wildflowers, so it's pretty -Big chasm that could be a great public mine -Pumpkins are laying all over so we'll have seeds -On the other side of some mountains are a spruce forest, so possible wolves! -There's a small desert just beyond the area (so easy sand/cactus access) -There's pigs and sheep everywhere -There's a river that runs right on the edge of the plains at the bottom of some mountains, and it leads out to a sea/ocean -There's another river that trails off outside of our territory, dunno where it leads -There's a bay area/fjord that the river dumps into -Several smaller bodies of water, ponds, one small lake -Rocky outcrop great for possible lighthouse -The mountains are actually pretty thick in some areas, rather than just one large hump. Some of them are steep enough I think to incorporate into the walls. Plus, they all have snowy peaks, so it adds interest to the landscape. -The closest chicken/cow spawns were a bit far, but I managed to drag six cows and two chickens over the mountains (it lasted three minecraft days. so tedious) -Like most plains there's loads of tunnels/caves that we could take advantage of and make part of the subway -There's also a close Savanna (with more horses, some of them pure white)
And if we decide we need more space, there's woods on the other side of the smaller mountains so we can encompass those.
