Back off I'm writing here! *shoots invaders away with lemon flavored slushie*
Let's keep in mind that my stories going to be a depressing one because I need something to get these feelings out, alright? No judging me o3o My verbs are 'was' and 'were'
Story:
It was a dark winter night. The stars glittered coldly against the midnight-blue sky. There was no moon in sight, for it was the night of the new moon. Down on the frosty ground, black tree outlines were etched out in shocking detail against the pure white snow. Suddenly, a black shape came streaking out of the forest, kicking up snow in great plumes. The creature stretched it's long wings and leaped into the air, beating them furiously in order to gain altitude. The creature's characteristics were a bit hard to pick out in the darkness, but it looked vaguely like an over-sized cat with wings. Ellie was the creature's name. She was of a curious species called catwls, which were an odd mix of cats and owls. Quiet sobs could be heard coming from the she-catwl as she flew in no particular direction. The quiet night gave no indication of what Ellie was crying about. It was a perfect winter night, the crisp air cool, but not too cold; the stars bright, but without the glaring brightness of the moon. A whisper drifted from Ellie, too quiet for an outsider to hear, even in the silence of the night. She flew higher and higher until one might think she could touch one of those cold, emotionless stars that shone above, uncaring about the broken souls below. The air grew colder as she flew up, however, Ellie didn't seem to mind. Another whisper escaped her, this time audible. "I've failed," was all she said. The catwl glanced up at the stars, her orange eyes which were normally filled with laughter and joy now looked haunted, grief stricken, frightened. This only slightly revealed the hurricane of emotions whipping around inside Ellie. The emotions that were threatening to rip her apart from the inside. How could I fail? she wondered, looking down from the stars at the snow covered earth. I've never failed before. I can't believe- No! No stop it! Don't think about that! Please, just don't... Fresh tears flowed down Ellie's face, slipping off and falling the great distance to the cold ground. I didn't even get to say goodbye... Ellie thought, taking a shaky breath. How could this happen? They were so strong, happy, I never thought... how could I have known they were feeling all that? She looked down at the ground, then glanced over her shoulder at the fading trees. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I've failed you." Ellie beat her wings hard one last time, then folded then in close to her body. She sliced through the air like an arrow, falling down, down, down. "I'm sorry..."
BAM. Done :D
Author's Note: Ellie was not killing herself, she was just falling. She does not die.
