Before you ask, this challenge is optional. You do not have to enter if you do not want to.
It's time for the fourth Owl Challenge! But this time, there's no art involved. For this challenge, you must write a short story. You must write about your Catwl (winged cat) in flight and describe his/her emotions, feelings, and surroundings in detail. Here's the catch: You're only allowed two state of being verbs in the whole thing. (am, is, are, was, were, be, being, or been). This will force you to use your creative imagination and show the readers what's happening rather than just telling us. There is no maximum sentence limit; however, the minimum is five sentences.
State of being verbs include am, is, are, was, were, be, being, and been. As you can see, an overuse of these can lead to a dull story! "Toby was happy to be flying. The wind was cool as it went through her wings." vs. "Toby glided through the air, glad to be flying. Wind danced through her wing feathers." Which one is more interesting?
There will be no winner to this challenge, but I’m going to give you feedback and critique on the paragraph. If you don't want me to do this, write "Opt out" in bold above your entry. To enter, post it in a topic in the new Challenge subboard in the art area. Please include your codename in your topic title! The last day to enter is October 31, so feel free to spend as much or as little time as you want this month on the challenge.
Again, if you do not want to enter, that is 100% okay. No one is forcing you to do this. It's just for fun.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask below!
