password protected sensitive topics? what good is that going to do, they were already only for members to see anyways.
Especially when you just give us the password??

Since we're all getting older and facing increasingly serious topics, there's a password on those boards to confirm that you are willing to see and deal with things like that. It's just an extra safeguard.

makes sense
maybe we should have warnings in our titles? Just so people can tell how serious/alarming it might be? Maybe a [1] if it's pretty mild, [5] if it's really bad? That way everyone can tell which topics they'd be willing to get into and which they'd rather not click.

Well I obviously missed a lot. I want to know two things:
1. What happened?
2. I didn't get the password (is it the same for everyone?), so if someone has it, can you send it to me? Never mind, I found it.

Nothing terrible. Eises just recently posted something very sensitive, and there have been other threads (less recent)

personally, i think maybe we should have a rule against anti-member threads ._. if you need to say something like that, just put it in a message to those you think will sympathize. A lot of people here are unstable emotionally, and seeing that much hate may take them over the edge.

A lot of people here are unstable emotionally, and seeing that much hate may take them over the edge. The anti thread wasn't about anyone on here, though. That's why I like my warning system idea, it lets people know what intensity to expect on a thread.

Also, about the password, don't you guys think it would be a better idea to just pm the password to everybody? That way if we got invaded by trolls or something, they wouldn't have the password and our privacy would be fine. Having it sitting out in the open is just kind of ehh for me.

I admit I feel similar. Although the situation is highly unlikely, as members have to be approved now and otherwise the boards aren't visible.

Toby was the one that set up the password so you'd have to ask her about that The good thing is that only logged in members can even see that the boards exist and you can't make an account without admin approval, so if a bunch of trolls were to attempt to attack the forum they wouldn't be able to have accounts here. Though having the password out there for most members to see (not all members can even see the board) is still kind of null
